One-piece aluminium rails bolt straight to the steps of your stairs allowing the stairlift to travel straight up and down without changing direction. However, some optional features coupled with possible stair modifications do not always allow a straight stairlift to be installed on some straight staircases. A small turn at the top or bottom is sometimes needed.

Specially designed and built curved rails can accommodate most types of curved stairs even where the width is as little as 650cm as well as park at different levels of the staircase. Curved stairlifts are very versatile and with modern design techniques can be installed on the left or right hand side.
